The Adhezion lab is a testing and development site for product and processing used in transportation, packaging, and general industry, and is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and certified to ISO 9001:2015. We can duplicate our customer’s production and testing according to OEM, SAE, ASTM, ISO, and customer specifications. We also sample and test customer-specific cases, cartons, and other packaging stock, including freezing up to -40C, ambient, and high-temperature resistance.

Heat/Cold ResistanceTesting adhesives/parts for their resistances to various temperatures on specific substrates identified by the customer, including plastic, metal, corrugated, wood, fabric, urethane boards, polypropylene boards, and foam.
Humidity/Water Immersion ResistanceTesting of adhesives/parts for their resistance to various levels of moisture on specific substrates identified by the customer, including plastic, metal, corrugated, wood, fabric, urethane boards, polypropylene boards, and foam.
Environmental Cycle TestingEnvironmental Cycle testing adhesives and their performance on various substrates—this type of test often include heat, cold, room temperature, salt spray, and moisture—testing for the parts resistance to the combination.
Salt Spray TestingSalt spray testing measures the adhesive/part resistance to a specific salt solution at a particular temperature.
Viscosity TestingTesting materials at specific temperatures to measure resistance to flow.
Material Aging TestingTest specific adhesives for their shelf-life stability over time and temperature, including how the various storage conditions and shipping temperatures impact the product.
Peel TestingThis test demonstrates the peel resistance of the substrate combined with the identified adhesives—pulls are typically made at 90 or 180 degrees. The evaluation of interior trim in transportation and other industries commonly uses this test.
Lap Shear TestingMeasuring how much shear force can be exerted on a lap joint before failure—this test reveals the strength of the adhesive used to create a bond line between two substrates as measured in Newtons or PSI. It identifies the failure mode (cohesive, adhesive, or substrate).
Side Impact TestingMeasures the force that a bond will withstand at various temperatures.
Elongation TestingTesting the amount the material/adhesive will stretch when force is applied (typically expressed in percent of original length).
Modulus of ElasticityMeasures resistance of a material/adhesive to being stretching when a stress is applied typically measured in PSI / MPa.
